My athletic updates

My triathlon season was kind of non existent after World Championships in Vancouver, June of 2008. My triathlon preparation blocks, starting in November of 2007 was very successful. I was on track, with the help of my coaches and the support of my husband, family and friends, to have the season I planned for. Unfortunately, a nagging achilles and calf injury struck in early May. With decreased running mileage, I managed to keep up most of my triathlon training to keep me fit for World Championships. I was not, however, able to fully heal and finish the remaining season. I kept active with lots of swimming, biking, including many miles on my mountain bike, and yoga.

Winter of 2009 brought new adventures. I'm happy to announce that my husband and I are expecting our first baby. Our due date in September 7. This new adventure brings on many new experiences I've been enjoying (except the first 10 weeks of "all day" sickness (who calls in morning sickness!?!) With approaching our 18th week into the pregnancy, I'm feeling wonderfully, like myself again. I have completely healed from my 2008 injury and therefore enjoying running, swimming, yoga and gym workouts regularly. My hours of training per week have gone done, but so far, I have been able to enjoy an active pregnancy. I look forward to the 2010 triathlon season. :)
